Recyval-nano
The goal of this project is to develop technology for recovering gallium, indium, and other rare earth metals (REMs) from WEEE, solid state lighting, and photovoltaics. In WEEE, rare earth metals such as indium and gallium are present in flat panel displays (FPDs) as well as in solar panels and solar cells.
The project focuses on developing recycling processes to recover valuable components from FPDs (In, Y, Nd) for the production of high-value-added nanoparticles. This technology is highly relevant for the WEEE recycling sector and has been successfully implemented as a demonstration plant in a European recycling company with a capacity of 500 kg/hour.
